Indigo Bunting

I finally caught some pics of an Indigo Bunting! The Indigo Bunting was numero uno on my target list ever since I saw one about twelve years ago. In fact, that sighting of this gorgeous little bird was a key reason I took up bird-watching!

These pics were taken on the Ancient Trail by Darbydale, and the Edgewood Trail at the Pleasant Valley Area in the Harrisburg/Orient area of central Ohio. Both areas are part of the Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park.

With the "capture" of "number one", my target list has changed.

In no particular order:

Scarlet Tanager

Owl (any variety)

A "ground" bird (i.e the Ring-necked Pheasant I heard at Pickerington Ponds)

Indigo Bunting

You lookin' at me?

Yes!

As a matter of fact I've been looking for you for quite a while.
