I got this pic on my first day with my new Canon PowerShot SX50. Thought I was shooting a hawk, and found out later while viewing the pic...an Eagle!

Osprey, on a bad hair day.

This is a Merlin. I got this shot in the Village of Shadeville (US 23 and SR-665) in Ohio. Merlins aren't usually in the state, but do pass through on their migratory routes. I caught this one enjoying a meal of an unlucky smaller bird on the top of a telephone pole. For a collection of the shots I got of this scene, click here.
